Kaniksu Health Services (Sandpoint, Idaho)

A Community Health Center (CHC) located in a year-round resort town and artists' community in northern Idaho is seeking a Board Certified Family Physician to join their team. Ideal candidates will be willing to contribute as a team player and understand evidence based outcomes in a community health setting. ER experience and bilingual English/Spanish are favorable, but not required.

This CHC specializes in primary medical care for families and individuals of all ages and offers comprehensive patient care, support services and a health care home for patients by providing ongoing care and health management and related services for families and individuals throughout their lives. The largest patient population group is women in their childbearing years ages 24 - 46. The CHC participates in the Depression and Optimizing Primary Care Collaboratives. Clinic hours are Monday - Thursday 8 am - 6 pm; Friday 8 am - 5 pm; and Saturday 9:30 am - 3 pm. Physicians are expected to provide 32 hours in patient care and 8 hours in administrative tasks.

Residents enjoy community amenities quite remarkable for a "small town." A nonprofit 62-bed hospital provides care for more than 25,000 patients each year. Its 24-hour emergency department is capable of handling trauma, cardiac, pediatric and neurologic emergencies for Bonner County and the surrounding areas. The hospital has its own helicopter for emergency services which cuts the response time at least in half for this community compared to waiting for a helicopter from Spokane.
